Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Cameron, Happy Birthday to you.
27 years ago, I was 19–almost 20– and hugely fat. Dad snuck into the post op room and saw you. That was before Dads were a part of C-section births. Both sets of Grandparents sat in the hall and waited to see you. It was early morning on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. I would nurse you in between cigarettes (can you even beleive that?! smoking in the hospital?!). You had a perfectly round head and were a big baby for the times. I know this will come to a big shock to you, but I was very neurotic and nervous and Grandma made it even worse. We always thought you were choking. Anyway, you are an amazing young man. A devoted husband and father and a supportive and loving son and brother. You bless our lives.
Love,
Mom

Thanks, Mom!
Maybe next year I’ll do a photo retrospective and dig up photos from all of my past birthdays. That’d be fun.
